NY Senator Webb Looking For Submissions for 2025 Earth Day Student Showcase

New York State Senator Lea Webb (SD-52) says she is now looking for submissions for her Earth Day Celebration Student Showcase. This year’s theme for the showcase is “Our Power, Our Planet!” Senator Webb says her goal for the event is to emphasize the importance of both recycling and waste reduction.

The showcase will help exchange ideas about recycling and waste reduction within schools and have both children and adults stimulate creative thinking about solutions to problems related to recycling and waste reduction.

“This Earth Day, we have a unique opportunity to empower the next generation of environmental stewards,” said Senator Lea Webb. “Our theme, ‘Our Power, Our Planet,’ isn’t just about raising awareness—it’s about inspiring action. By teaching our children to recycle, reduce waste, and think creatively about solutions, we’re building a future where every small effort adds up to a big impact. Together, we can show our students that protecting the Earth is not just an obligation, but a privilege.”

Students from grades K-12 are encouraged to participate, Senator Webb says. They can participate by submitting a poster that may be used as part of the campaign. Students who participate will also be awarded a certificate of recognition by Senator Webb.

All submissions are due by April 11th and may be submitted online by clicking HERE. Anyone who may have questions regarding the showcase is asked to contact NYSenateServices@NYSenate.Gov or calling 518-455-2558.
