A localized Flood Warning continues until late tomorrow (Oct. 29) morning along the Tioughnioga River basin in Cortland County.
- At midnight Thursday, the stage was 9.8 feet, nearly two feet over the flood stage of 8.0 feet.
- By 5:15 am Thursday, it was down to 9.1 feet.
- Hours later at 10 am, it was down to 8.6 feet.
- Highest point over the last 24 hour period was 10.8 feet.
Rising waters have caused significant flooding to roads and basements from the Village of Marathon to the Yaman Park area of Cortland.
The river is expected to continue falling below flood stage into this evening.
It will continue receding tomorrow.
However, more heavy rain could be coming this weekend, particularly late Friday into Saturday.
