Cortland County and much of Central New York have been placed in a High Wind Advisory beginning at 4:00 tomorrow morning and running until 1 p.m. (January 12)
Officials with the National Weather Service warn of 20-25 mph sustained winds expected to gust up to 50 mph at times.
Unsecured objects could be blown around and the saturated ground could enable trees to uproot easier than usual, causing an increased potential for power outages.
Residents are urged to secure outdoor objects and use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle.
