Officials with the National Weather Service have issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for most of central New York, beginning with a mixture of light snow, sleet and freezing rain moving into the area after midnight tonight (January 15).
Untreated roads and surfaces could become snow or ice covered and slippery, so drivers are urged to use as much caution as possible.
A combination of snow squalls and lake effect snow showers will produce several inches of snow in the areas downwind of Lake Ontario tomorrow and into tomorrow night, with periodic snow squalls producing near whiteout conditions at times.
Additionally, a storm currently making its way into the Great Lakes could produce significant snow accumulations Saturday and Saturday night.
