Back on August 25th around 7pm, the New York State Police at Homer responded to a report of a vehicle that had gone off the roadway near Route 13 and East Homer Baltimore Rd, Homer.
When troopers arrived at the scene they found a vehicle that went off the roadway and was on its roof. The operator of the vehicle, 34 year old Ashley D. Nichols of Norwich was still in the driver’s seat.
Nichols was freed from the vehicle and was then evaluated by EMS that arrived at the scene. She refused to be transported to an area hospital for further evaluation. While troopers were investigating the cause of the accident it was determined that Nichols was under the influence and was taken to SP Homer where her B.A.C. was .17%, double the legal limit.
She was processed and released to a sober third party.
