Nominations open for annual Cortland County Hall of Fame
Local News February 23, 2021Nominations are open for annual inductees into the Cortland County Hall of Fame.
The CNY Living History Center hosts the shrine inside its Homeville Museum on State Route 11, between Cortland and Homer.
Officials hope to add five local individuals this year with notable achievements in public service, social progress, industry, military, entertainment or other fields.
2020 honorees are scheduled to be announced by early May.
Each will have their picture and biography displayed on the Homeville “wall” and their names added to the Hall of Fame plaque within the museum.
Members of the community can submit their recommendations by March 23, whether by email or mail:

Nominations can be as simple as a person’s name. However, dates (including birth/death) and a few paragraphs describing their accomplishments will help to ensure candidates get fair consideration.
Those who submit a nomination must provide their name and contact information in case of any questions.
Following the nomination process, a panel of community members will select this year’s honorees. The Center is also looking for volunteers and/or suggestions for members of this panel.
If you would like to volunteer or suggest someone for the panel, please use the contact info above.
