Community members are reminded about a new emergency regulation enacted on Thursday (June 9), advising local building and business owners to deny entry or remove anyone who’s not wearing a face covering.
Governor Cuomo says both state and local governments are authorized to enforce civil and criminal penalties for violators.
Anyone over the age of two and able to medically tolerate a face-covering is required to do so when in public and whenever not maintaining at least six feet of social distance.
According to the official mandate, “face coverings shall include, but are not limited to, cloth masks (e.g. homemade sewn, quick cut, bandana), surgical masks, N-95 respirators, and face shields.”
