No Injuries After Sedan Sideswipes Tractor Trailer on Route 222

State Police along with McLean Fire and Rescue were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Route 222 and Lafayette Road around noon Tuesday, January 20th. The crash led to the temporary closure of the roadway.

Police tell X101 News the crash involved an Audi sedan and tractor trailer. The Audi was being driven by 44 year old Roberta Jo Ann Frost of Groton, who was at the stop sign on Lafayette Road. State Police say Roberta began to make a left turn onto Route 222 when she failed to give the right of way to a tractor trailer headed east on Route 22.

As a result, the Audi sideswiped the tractor trailer, causing the rear driver’s side wheel of the car to fall off. The tractor trailer ended up suffering a flat tire on its front driver’s side wheel and came to rest in the opposite lane of travel.

No injuries were reported, State Police say.
