With the holidays just around the corner, the National Fire Protection Association is asking the public to be cautious as Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are leading times for home fires in the United States.
According to the organization, this is because of the activities we typically engage in during this time of year. That includes making holiday meals, having Christmas trees in the home, and burning candles indoors.
Additionally, fires caused by heating equipment peak during the winter months as the temperatures drop. For more information on how to cut down on these risks in your home, visit nfpa.org.
