New York’s “Bet” on Sports Betting a Success

Not even through half a year and the State of New York has collected over $300 million dollars in mobile sports wagering tax revenue, exceeding all expectations.

The revenue coming in from sports betting has been directed to education aid, youth sports and responsible gaming programs.

“In just six months, New York has become a leader among states in implementing successful gaming policies, with hundreds of millions of dollars going to important programs that will improve the lives of all New Yorkers,” Governor Hochul said.




New York has collected more in mobile sports wagering revenue in the six months than any other state has generated over the course of several years. The state only projected about $249 million dollars in revenue, about $50 million below what actually came in.
