New York State National Work Zone Awareness Week 

New York State Governor Kathy Hochul is promoting National Work Zone Awareness Week which started on Monday and will end this Friday, April 25. This year’s national theme: “Respect the zone so we all get home.” Work zone safety assures the well-being of roadside workers and motorists on the road. Last year, over 156 crashes occurred on the Thruway in work zones, which accounted for one death and 30 injuries. 

Governor Hochul stated in regards to road safety: “Every roadside worker deserves to return home safely at the end of their shift… A few extra seconds of your time and attention can save a life.”
