The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles has received an award for their driver license security. The recognition is for the DMV’s efforts to improve the reliability of verification, reduce counterfeiting, and to protect the identities of New Yorker’s
“We at DMV are honored to receive such an important award that recognizes the work we have done to make sure that the driver licenses and non-driver ID cards we provide New Yorkers are as secure as possible,” said DMV Commissioner Mark J.F. Schroeder.
The Secure Driver License Award is awarded annually from the Coalition for a Secure Driver’s License. The award is to recognize the effort to raise awareness on the importance of utilizing high-tech security features in government-issued IDs to stop the risk of identity theft and/or fraud.
