New School Resource Officer Announced For Cortland Schools

Cortland Enlarged City Schools has a new School Resource Officer. The district and Cortland Police are celebrating Officer Joseph Slater as the new Resource Officer for the district. Officer Slater is a recently retired officer from Cortland Police where he served 20 years and brings a wealth of experience.

Officer Slater has been working for his new role as a Resource Office for a number of years. He recently completed training in Broome County for the role. Officer Slater fills a void that was left after Resource Officer Rob Reyngoudt took a new job position outside of the Cortland area back in June of this year.

Officer Reyngoudt served as a School Resource Office for 20 years with the Cortland Enlarged City School District.
