During the Cortland County Legislative meeting on Thursday, March 23rd, the legislature voted to appoint a new Republican Election Commissioner.
The appointment comes after the death of commissioner Robert C. Howe. His death left a vacancy for the remainder of his term through December 31st of 2023.
The Legislature voted unanimously to appoint Michelle S. Brown as the Cortland County Republican Election Commissioner. The appointment comes after the Cortland County Republican Committee had submitted a certification endorsing the appointment of Brown.
Brown’s term will begin on May 25th and run through the remainder of the term to December 31st, 2023.
