Cortland County confirmed 50 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday, a new single-day record.
The previous high of 44 came at the end of last month.
Health officials say 211 are active and reported three new hospitalizations.
Three residents were also discharged, keeping the amount who are currently in the hospital at 14.
Over 1,200 residents are in quarantine or isolation.
The county officially surpassed 1,600 confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic in March.
Neighboring localities are also feeling the wrath.
Tompkins, Cayuga and Madison Counties are all beyond 250 active cases.
Broome County has 682 and Onondaga County more than 2,300.
Regional infection rates are at their highest point on record, with CNY at 5.55% and the Finger Lakes at over 7%.
