A new scholarship has been launched in New York State that makes nearly $3 million available to individuals looking to enter or advance into the addiction services workforce.

The partnership between the organization OASAS and SUNY schools Alfred State, Stony Brook and Empire State University will support more than 300 students pursuing certifications and degrees to work in the addiction profession. Individuals currently working toward these professions will have priority access to the scholarships.

Funding for the program is being provided through New York State’s Opioid Settlement Fund.
