Governor Cuomo yesterday (June 13) signed into law a bill passed by the Assembly and Senate that now requires all New York school children to be vaccinated, effectively banning any religious or other non-medical exemptions used to decline vaccination.

The amount of measles cases reported nationwide in the first six months of the year this week exceeded 1,000, the highest number seen in 27 years.

Many of those outbreaks started in pockets of NY with considerably low vaccination rates.
