A new company is looking to run direct bus service from Ithaca-to-New York City.
The Big Red Bullet Bus service would begin this fall.
Bob Nicholas, who is the general manager of the privately-owned “Big Red Bullet,” says the company will provide better and faster service than the Shortline, which stops in several towns between Ithaca and NYC, and will offer the direct service cheaper than Cornell’s C2C bus, which charges $180 per round-trip.
Rates on the Bullet are expected to be $110 for a round-trip during the week and $130 for weekends.
A one-way Bullet trip will cost $55 on weekdays and $65 on weekends.
The buses will be equipped with WiFi and other amenities.
