New Housing Development Hopes to Start Construction Before Winter Season

During the Village of Homer Planning Board meeting on Wednesday evening, planning board members held a public hearing regarding an application that was filed by Arbor Brooks Flats, LLC for the review and approval of a subdivision on Dee Street in the Village of Homer.

No one spoke during the public hearing, but board members were curious on what the status actually was for the project. The housing development, which consists of 15 duplexes and 2 fourplexes, was originally given approvals just prior to the start of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Speaking for the project during the meeting was Vince Patriarco, one of the developers for the project. Patriarco says the homes would be individually owned. However prices or if there would be a monthly maintenance fee were not discussed in the meeting.

When asked by the planning board when construction could begin on the duplexes, Patriarco said the dedication of Dee Street to the Village of Homer needs to be done, but he did note the process is going well. After that, work will be done to add services on Dee Street. During that process, sales of the duplexes are expected to begin.

Patriarco did add there has been a lot of inquiries and interest in the new housing development. If everything goes as planned, construction could begin late summer or early fall.

According to ArborBrookFlats.com, the neighborhood is described as a mirrored cul-de-sac. Each unit will have its own one-car garage and Hamilton Building Services of Cortland will handle the construction and sales of the units.
