New Director has been Announced at Cortland County BDC/IDA

Deputy Cortland County Administrator since 2023, Melanie Viladi will be stepping down from her current position to assume the role of the Cortland County Business Development Corporation and Industrial Development Agency’s Director.

IDA Board of Directors chair Mike McMahon stated that Viladi has a skill set that is uniquely suited to the tasks at hand, and anticipates that her onboarding will go smoothly. Some projects currently underway at the Cortland County BDC/IDA include a major expansion at Byrne Dairy, creating suitable development sites out of current brownfields, and supporting local municipalities in their own development initiatives.

Viladi is set to begin on May 5th. This follows the resignation of Brendan O’Bryan in March. Garry VanGorder, who had stepped back into the role in the interim, will be assisting in the transition.
