CNY Regional Planning and Development Board launched a new broadband survey this week.
Feedback provided will help identify and improve areas — including remote parts of Cortland County — plagued with unreliable internet access.
Participants are also asked about the affordability of their current internet service, and what they would be willing to spend to access a better broadband connection. All responses are anonymous.
Legislative Chairman Paul Heider encourages both residents and business owners to take the survey. He says their support will go a long way in securing future state and federal funding to expand these services in and around the county.
“The pandemic has shown how important reliable, affordable broadband internet is for a variety of needs,” Heider said. “As we emerge, we need to advocate for investment in this critical infrastructure and this is one way we can support efforts to make sure Cortland County is not left out.”
