A new disposal kiosk for hypodermic needles was recently installed outside the Homer Police Department, according to village chief Bob Pitman.
The drop box is located near the entrance to the parking lot on James Street and available at any time for residents to discard unused or unwanted needles only.
Prescription medications are still being accepted inside the police department, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic that’s now available by appointment only.
Call 607-749-2028 to schedule a time before you intend to bring anything by.
The Unwanted Hypodermic Needle Drop Box / Kiosk Disposal Program is a partnership between the Village of Homer Police Department, the Southern Tier AIDS Program and the Cortland County Health Department.
