New York State Homes and Community Renewal recently announced a total of $1.4 million in awards that will assist 47 households in Central New York.
The funding is part of $28 million awarded to nonprofit organizations and municipalities statewide.
Awards for Cortland County include:
—$500,000 to the City of Cortland to support rehabilitation activities for 18 homeowners.
—$490,000 to the Village of Marathon to support rehabilitation activities for 14 homeowners.
The awards are provided through New York State Homes and Community Renewal’s annual HOME Local Program and the Community Development Block Grant’s Housing Program funding round.
Since 2011, housing rehab and homeownership funds under these programs have assisted more than 8,200 households in New York.
