National Weather Services Warns of 50mph Wind Gusts Wednesday Evening

The National Weather Service at Binghamton (NWS) has issued a Wind Advisory until 7am tomorrow, November 6th. The NWS says west winds will reach between 20 and 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. Stronger winds of 60mph are expected now in the Capital Region instead of Central New York.

The NWS warns damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Power outages are possible and travel could become difficult. A line of thunderstorms will move through the area between 6pm and 9pm where isolated strong gusts of winds could reach 50mph.

Residents should fasten loose objects or shelter objects in a safe location prior to the onset of winds, the NWS says.
