The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a Fire Weather Watch due to dry conditions, low humidity and potential wind gusts of 30 mph.
The watch is through Friday evening for South Central New York and Northeastern Pennsylvania. A Fire Weather Watch means that there are critical fire weather conditions forecasted. This means any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
New York remains under a burn ban until May 14th.
