The Cortland Community Foundation has announced, from National Philanthropy day on November 15th, over $410,000 dollars was raised with $30,000 in grants from the Foundation, which equals over $440,000 given to 41 different local non-profit organizations.
The Cortland Community Foundation is the only public foundation responding, exclusively to the needs of Cortland area organizations and the people they serve. Grants from the Foundation help support capital improvement projects and provide many types of equipment, materials and supplies for local organizations.
The organizations with the highest number of donations received are:
1st place – $7,000 awarded to the Cortland Repertory Theatre with 174 donations received.
2nd place – $3,000 awarded to Cortland County Historical Society with 77 donations received.
3rd place – $1,500 awarded to Cortland Free Library with 48 donations received.
4th pace – $1,000 awarded to the Center for the Arts in Homer with 26 donations received.
The organizations with the Highest total dollar amount raised are:
1st place – $10,000 awarded to the YWCA of Cortland with $85,569.66 in donations received.
2nd place – $4,500 awarded to the CNY Living History Center with $57,130.00 in donations received.
3rd place – $2,000 awarded to Lime Hollow with $34,214.66 in donations received.
4th place – $1,000 awarded to YMCA with $25,160.00 in donations received.
Last years event raised over $380,000 in donations plus $30,000 in grants from the Foundation.
