Customers using National Grid utility service are reminded to protect their info by verifying the identity of anyone who calls or visits their home to talk about energy bills.
Checks include verifying their name and company by asking to see ID, don’t sign any document until you review the terms, and to not confuse employees of other companies for those working with National Grid. Most National Grid employees will arrive in a clearly marked National Grid vehicle with clearly visible ID badges and the company logo.
If you doubt the person at your home is a National Grid employee and believe you’re in any danger as a result, lock your doors and call 911.
