The NAMM Foundation has awarded McGraw Central School District with a Best Communities for Music Education designation.
McGraw joins 830 school districts across the nation in receiving the honor in 2023, which is handed out to each school for outstanding commitment to musical education. To qualify for the award, McGraw’s music department was evaluated based on several factors like funding, graduation requirements, music class participation and instruction time.
“The music teachers at McGraw are dedicated to providing an exceptional experience for all of our students,” Superintendent of Schools Melinda McCool said. “Through their efforts our music programs have grown tremendously. We are extremely fortunate to have these amazing educators inspiring our students in this community,”
These aspects evolve over time, so the award also pays homage to the work of music educators and administrators from year’s past.
