Cortlandville Fire Department was called to a reported structure fire at 5:42pm today (Saturday February 12th) at 1244 Starr Rd.

On arrival firefighters found a large storage building with heavy smoke coming from the building. The department then announced a 2nd Alarm fire and requested aid from Homer, Virgil, and Dryden fire departments.
Due to the contents of what was inside the building firefighters were forced to fight the flames from the outside of the building. The fire was under control within 30 minutes, but the building sustained heavy damage.
Cortlandville Fire Department was assisted by Homer, Virgil, and Dryden Fire Departments the Cortland County Department of Emergency Response and Communications, and TLC-EMS. McLean and McGraw provided standby coverage.
