Most covid-19 restrictions will expire in New York once 70% of adults get their first dose of vaccine.
The latest CDC data shows that figure to be 68.6% of state residents 18 and older.
Once that reaches 70-percent, guidance on capacity restrictions, social distancing, cleaning, health screening and contact tracing will become optional for most commercial settings.

There are several exempt industries that will remain subject to existing mask and social distancing protocols:
- Large-Scale Event Venues
- Public Transit
- Homeless Shelters
- Correctional Facilities
- Nursing Homes
- Health Care Settings
Cuomo also announced that school districts can now choose to lift the requirement of students to wear masks outdoors.
However, guidance on mask use indoors remains in place.
