Original Post: National Grid is reporting 9,170 customers are without power in Cortland County as of 11:50am Friday, February 6. Jared Paventi, Communications Manager for National Grid tells X101 News the power outage is due to a fault on a transmission line that feeds the area. Crews are investigating the cause and National Grid’s Control Center is working to isolate the outage by rerouting power.
Paventi says National Grid has been able to restore power in McGraw and near the Lorings Crossing area, but say between 6,000 and 7,000 customer remain without power in the Cortland area. A time line on when power will be fully restored was not available.
REMINDER: All traffic lights become a 4-way stop during power outages.
