Scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast to move into the area late this afternoon, lasting into the night time.
A few of the strongest storms could become severe. Damaging wind gusts and large hail are possible, especially in the Central New York region.
Soils are still very wet from heavy rain over the past week. Because of this, more isolated flash flooding is also possible today.
Locations that recently experienced flooding will be more vulnerable to the additional rainfall.
Otherwise, the day is looking to be mostly sunny.
Temperatures will reach highs in the low to mid 80’s, then drop to overnight lows near 60.
Sunshine will also be abundant the rest of the week, with highs more comfortable in the low to mid 70’s.
