Moravia Girls Varsity Field Hockey Team Raises Over $1,000 For Cortland Memorial Foundation
The Moravia Girls Varsity Field Hockey team raised $1,054 from the “Stick it to Cancer” fundraiser. The money raised went to the Cortland Memorial Foundation’s (CMF) Nicholas Renzi Cancer Care Fund at Guthrie Cortland Medical Center. Director of the CMF, Sheila Ossit, says the money will be used for smaller equipment purchases at the Cancer center.
The funds will additionally go towards comfort items for oncology patients, and staff education and financial assistance for patients. The team, wearing pink, along with their coach Jackie Hess, presented the check to Nurse Navigator at the Renzi Cancer Center, Carey Wilk.
