On Monday, October 10th around 4pm, a call came into the Freeville Fire Department of a reported house fire.
When fire crews arrived, they found a working trailer fire. Firefighters spent the next four hours working to extinguish the fire.
The fire ended up completely destroying the home. One person was in the home at the time and was taken via helicopter to the hospital.
Assisting the Freeville Fire Department was Dryden Fire, Dryden Ambulance, McLean Fire, Etna Fire, Groton Fire, Lansing Fire, NYSEG, NYSP, and TSCO.
Virgil and Cortlandville fire departments stood by at the Dryden Fire Station to cover other calls in the area.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
