Motorists should avoid State Route 281 in Homer today, as state highway crews mill the road.
Paving will occur next week.
Today, the work is along on North / South West St (Rt 281) from the Interstate 81 connector to Hooker Ave.
It’s expected to end sometime this afternoon and will not continue into the weekend.
Next week, it resumes again on 281 — north of Homer — but will be back in the village on Wednesday.
To avoid traffic delays, use an alternate route.
