Public calling hours are tomorrow for Ronald Denniston, who passed away on Sunday after 79 years of life, spending more than 57 as president of the First National Bank of Dryden.
Ron dedicated himself to countless organizations in the community like the Neptune Hose Company, Cortland Rotary Club, TC3 Finance Committee and Virgil Community Loan Committee.
He also served as Vice President of the Southworth Library, Treasurer of the Cortland Memorial Hospital and Trustee of the Dryden Village Board, where he served as Police Commissioner.
When he wasn’t on the job, Ron also loved to farm the land he moved onto in 1978, after growing up on a farm himself in the Oswego area.
Additionally, he was a 32nd degree member of the Scottish Rite and served as Worshipful Master of the Dryden Masonic Lodge #472.
Calling hours will be from 1-4 pm tomorrow at Wright-Beard Funeral Home in Cortland, with all state guidelines on capacity, masks and social distancing being followed.
Masonic Services will be held on Sunday, November 1 st at 1:30pm, also at Wright-Beard Funeral Home.
A private service for close family and friends will follow at 2pm Sunday with burial at Glenwood Cemetery in Homer.
