Memorial Day Events Taking Place on Monday


Several Memorial Day events will be taking place on Monday, May 27th in the Cortland area, including several parades.

For the Village of Homer, the Memorial Day parade will begin at 9am on North Main street at the Clinton Street intersection. The parade will proceed towards Cayuga Street and up towards Glenwood Cemetery where a ceremony will take place to honor military personnel who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Their parade will also begin at 9:30 am at the school with a ceremony taking place at 10am at the Village Green/Library.

The parade begins at 10:30am and will proceed down Main Street within the Village of Dryden. A ceremony will take place at 11am at the Village Green.

The VFW Tioughnioga Post 2354 (Cortland) is having a Memorial Day breakfast from 7:30 to 10:30am. Cost is $10 for adults and free for veterans.

Parade begins at 10am near the Village Green and proceeds towards Marathon Cemetery. A ceremony will follow at the cemetery.

Parade begins at 11am at the Veterans Boulder on Preble Road and proceeds towards Route 281.

Parade begins at 10am on Academy Street and will proceed to the cemetery on Route 13 for a ceremony.
