Members Announced for Homer DRI Local Planning Committee

The Village of Homer has announced the finalized list of members of the Village of Homer DRI Local Planning Committee (LPC).



The committee is made up of representatives from local businesses, neighborhood associations, non-profits, social and public service organizations, educational institutions, property owners, local developers, and others who represent the wide range of interest in Homer.

The LPC will be Co-chaired by Village of Homer Mayor, Hal McCabe and the Executive Director/CEO of the Cortland County Business Development Program and Cortland County IDA, Garry VanGorder. VanGorder is also the CNY Regional Development Corporation (REDC) rep.

For the next 7 months, the committee will work with the planning consultant, who is C&S Engineering, by providing feedback on the community vision for Downtown Homer, goals, and revitalization strategies. This includes reviewing planning products and prioritizing actions and projects.

The LPC will also work with members of the community with public engagement and reaching out to various constituencies, making sure all voices are listened to during the planning process of the DRI.

All meetings by the Local Planning Committee will be open to the public, with the first one being on Thursday, June 1st from 2:30 to 4:30 pm at the Center for the Arts. It is noted a website will be created for livestreaming the meetings.
