A call came into Cortland County 9-1-1 of a man at Cortland Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in the Town of Cortlandville who suffered a cardiac event and was no longer breathing.
CPR was started by employees at the dealership. New York State Trooper Oddi and other emergency personnel were dispatched to respond. Trooper Oddi coming from Homer, was able to arrive at the dealership in about 3 minutes.
On arrival, Trooper Oddi was assisted by two off-duty Cortlandville Fire Department members who heard and responded to the call. As fire department continued CPR chest compression, Trooper Oddi used the State Police Divisions AED and applied it to the man’s chest within a minute of arrival.
As compressions continued, TLC Ambulance arrived and administered an additional two shocks for the man. Emergency responders were able to regain a pulse on the man and transported him to the Guthrie Cortland Medical Center.
His current condition is unknown.
