Over the weekend, Governor Cuomo allowed outdoor, socially distanced graduations of up to 150 people beginning June 26th and one local school district has immediately taken advantage.
McGraw superintendent Melinda Christofferson McCool said in a Facebook post that the high school would hold its annual graduation for seniors on June 26 at 6:30 PM.
Social distancing and hygiene guidelines from the state will be in place, with guests now limited to four per graduate.
McCool says additional information will be forthcoming from the district.
Yesterday followed Cuomo’s announcement Friday that schools could hold drive-in or drive-through ceremonies later this month.
Regional leaders are asking for more guidance on how larger school districts could possibly hold their ceremonies.
In the meantime, those in Cortland County have taken to “Senior Spotlights” on social media, mobile caravans and other ways to honor their graduates.
