Part of an annual tradition, the volunteer Hospital Aid Society yesterday (January 1) celebrated the family of the first baby born in 2020 at Guthrie Cortland Medical Center.
Receiving a special gift basket for the occasion were McGraw parents Jane and Lawrence Lewis, Jr..
Their baby boy, Bentley Lawrence, was born at 10:18 a.m. yesterday (January 1), weighing in at 6 pounds and measuring 19 inches long.
The Hospital Aid Society was founded in 1905 as the Cortland’s first volunteer hospital organization, drawing 200 members from Cortland and 12 surrounding towns.
Three years later, the Junior Hospital Aid Society was organized as an auxiliary and still exists today as the Hospital Aid
