McGraw Man Charged With 1st Degree Rape

The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office says their office received a report of sex abuse allegations on March 24th with the allegations taking place at an undisclosed location within the Town of Cortlandville.

The investigation found 44 year old Randy S. Mercier of McGraw, had subjected a victim to inappropriate sexual contact. Officers found and arrested Mercier last Thursday, March 27th. He faces charges of Rape in the 1st degree, Sexual Abuse in the 1st degree, both Felonies, and 2 Counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Misdemeanor.

Mercier was taken to the Sheriff’s Office for processing and was later arraigned via the Centralized Arraignment Process. He was remanded to Cortland County Jail on no bail. He is due in Cortlandville Town Court later this month.
