McGraw Man Arrested Following High-Speed Chase
Just after 2:30 in the morning on Monday, November 10th, an officer with the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office was patrolling Route 11 in Cortlandville when they saw an equipment violation on a vehicle. The Sheriff’s Office says the officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle, but the vehicle failed to pull over and fled onto Ridge Road at a high rate of speed.
The vehicle would continue to flee from law enforcement until it pulled into a driveway on West Academy Street in McGraw. The driver, identified as 30 year old Sheldon L. Morse of McGraw, was taken into custody without incident.
Officers charged Morse with Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in the 3rd, Obstruction 2nd, and Reckless Driving, all Misdemeanors. He also faces 7 traffic infractions. Morse was transported to the Sheriff’s Office for processing and was later released on appearance tickets. He is due in Cortlandville Town Court next month.
