Back on May 9th, the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office received a report of sex abuse allegations which occurred between 2015 and 2022 at a location that was not released in the Town of Solon and in the Town of Cortlandville.
As officers investigated the sex abuse allegations, it was determined that 44 year old Robert A. Schulte of McGraw, subjected the victim in the case to inappropriate sexual contact on multiple locations over several years in both Solon and Cortlandville. The Sheriff’s Office states the victim knows Schulte.
Warrants were issued by the Sheriff’s Office for Schultes arrest. He was later arrested on Tuesday, May 16th and was charged with:
Charges in Town of Solon:
- Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Misdemeanor
- Two Counts of Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the 1st, a Felony
- Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child, A Felony
Charges in Town of Cortlandville:
- Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Misdemeanor
- Rape in the 3rd, a Felony
- Rape in the 2nd, a Felony
- Criminal Sexual Act in the 3rd, a Felony
- Criminal Sexual Act in the 2nd, a Felony.
Robert Schulte was arraigned and remanded to Cortland County Jail with no bail on the charges from the Town of Solon, and then remanded for the charges from the Town of Cortlandville with bail set at $5,000 cash and $10,000 bond.
