Matt Brooks: [00:00:00] X101 Always Classic 101.5 F.M, I am Matt Brooks and well with me in the studio we’ve got Richard Osborne and Drew Thomas from the McGraw Drama Club. Here to talk about the upcoming production of All Shook Up, coming at the McGraw High School Friday, March 13th at seven and Saturday at 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM now, first off, thank you guys for joining me today.

Richard Osbourne : Yeah, no problem. Thank you for having us.

Matt Brooks: Now, first off Richard, can you tell me about the show ? What’s it all about ? I heard Elvis Presley’s involved ?

Richard Osbourne : So it’s a jukebox musical for Elvis, and this roustabout comes to town and he shakes things up. Everybody falls for each other and it’s a comedy and it’s based off of Shakespeare’s 12th night.

Matt Brooks: Oh, that’s cool. It’s how kind of mixing some of the classical with, uh, I wouldn’t say modern at this day and age, but definitely something more, uh, contemporary and your role is Chad. Can you tell me about that ?

Richard Osbourne : He’s, he’s the roustabout that comes to town. He plays like the Elvis character.

Matt Brooks: Okay. And does he act like [00:01:00] Elvis or is there some interesting …

Richard Osbourne : Sometimes yeah.

Matt Brooks: But that’s the person that people are gonna be really looking for, and and Drew, you are playing Dennis. Can you tell me about him ?

Drew Thomas: Yes. So Dennis is, and part of the story is Chad’s sidekick. He is, um, really go-lucky trying to follow people around, trying to find love for himself, which he struggles with.

Um, but he is kind of a side character. He’s there having a good time.

Matt Brooks: And what would you say is, I mean, we don’t wanna give too much on the show itself ’cause you want people to come in. But, uh, we’ll, we’ll jump back to Richard. What would you say is like your favorite part about this show as opposed to, uh, other shows you’ve done ?

Richard Osbourne : Ooh, I feel like just like the songs and like the energy, I feel like it’s very like. Upbeat and like happy.

Matt Brooks: It’s, it’s good a good time for, uh, for a soundtrack like that as we head into spring where we’re all getting a little more energy and also I have the same question for you as well, Drew

What’s your favorite part of being a part of this production ? [00:02:00]

Drew Thomas: I really love this show cause there’s definitely special moments that everybody can enjoy for all ages. There’s definitely things that older people will really, uh, resonate with and will find funny and there’s also, it’s great for younger audiences too, so no matter who comes and sees the show, they’re definitely gonna enjoy it.

Matt Brooks: Something for everybody, and that is perfect to hear, especially with having three showtimes. Again, as I mentioned earlier, it’s March 13th at 7:00 PM and Saturday two shows, 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM. Uh, guys, how do you get tickets for the show ? Can you get ’em ahead of time ?

Drew Thomas: You can get tickets ahead of time at the McGraw Main Office

Or you can get them at the door. It’s gonna be $10 for general admission and then $8 for student tickets.

Matt Brooks: Well, I hope you guys have a great time this weekend and that everybody has a chance to stop by three tote times again for, uh, All Shook Up at the McGraw High School, presented by the McGraw Drama Club.

Thank you guys for, uh, coming in with me today.

Drew Thomas: Thank you so much for having us.

Matt Brooks: Yep. Is X101 Always Classic I’m Matt Brooks.
