Maxson Named Volunteer of the Year by Village of Homer Recreation Department

During Wednesdays Village of Homer Recreation Department’s senior luncheon, Homer Fire Department President Tim Maxson was named as Volunteer of the Year by the Recreation Department. The award was presented by Recreation Director Andrew Pierce and Ward and JoAnn Dukelow.

The recreation department says Maxson not only volunteers with the Homer Fire Department, but has volunteered with numerous community events in the Village of Homer throughout the year.

This year’s senior luncheon was well attended and also included a presentation from Homer Police Chief Pitman regarding scams that target the elderly.
