The Marathon Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps (MAVAC) has announced in a release they are the recipient of this year’s Lipinski Rural Initiatives Award by Farm Credit East in the amount of $25,000 dollars.
The award is given to recognize both innovative and transformative efforts to revitalize rural communities in the northeast. The award funds given will go towards the funding of MAVACs new ambulance station construction project, MAVAC said in their release. The project also has a goal to add a retail space which would be then leased to a retail pharmacy inorder to serve the community.
