Updated Story: Webster To Retire From Guthrie Cortland To Spend Time With Family

After five and a half years as president and CEO of the now Guthrie Cortland Medical Center, Mark Webster has unexpectedly announced his resignation, effective this coming August.

WXHC News learned this morning (April 8) that Webster notified employees of Guthrie Cortland about his departure nearly two weeks ago.

We reached out to Webster about his decision and received a short three-lined press release this afternoon from the Guthrie Cortland marketing department.

That release didn’t provide much detail behind Webster’s decision, only that he will stay until August to “support key initiatives and ensure a smooth transition to his successor.”

We reached out to both Webster and his press team for more information and have yet to receive any more detail.

The new affiliation between Cortland Regional Medical Center was made official just months ago back in January.
