Through an investigation by the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office and the Cortland County Department of Social Services officers arrested 30 year old Ashley K West of Marathon, NY on May 25, 2022.
Between June of 2021 to May of this year West failed to disclose the required information needed to the Cortland County Department of Social Services regarding her household income. She also submitted fraudulent paperwork on her household income and composition.
West then received benefits in excess of $6,900 that she was not entitled to. She was charged with Offering a false instrument for filing in the 1st degree, 3 counts, welfare fraud in the third degree, grand larceny in the third degree, all of which are Felonies.
She was arraigned and released and is due back to appear on June 29th.
