Marathon Man Charged With DWI, Reckless Driving and Half a Dozen Violations After Leaving Scene of Accident


Around 7:30 in the evening on Tuesday, May 8th, officers with the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office found a vehicle crash on McGraw Marathon Road in Cortlandville, but with no operator of the vehicle.

The Sheriff’s Office says officers were able to locate the driver, identified as 25 year old Michael J. Warner of Marathon just a short distance from the scene. Warner was found to be intoxicated. He was additionally checked by emergency personnel on scene and then arrested for DWI, a Misdemeanor.

Warner, though, faces additional charges to the DWI including: Driving with .08 of 1% or More of Alcohol, Reckless Driving, both Misdemeanors, and 6 Violations. He was transported to the Sheriff’s Office for processing and was later released on uniform traffic tickets. Warner is due in Cortlandville Town Court later this month.
